Hans Berger (1873 - 1941) - The discoverer of human EEG.
Hans Berger was born in May 21st, 1873, in Neuses near Coburg. After studying medicine (1893-1897) he became an assistant at the Psychiatric Hospital of the Alma mater jenensis, under the direction of the famous psychiatrist Otto Binswanger. Hans Berger lived in Jena for 41 years until he was given emeritus status in 1938.
Hans Berger recorded the first human Electroencephalogram (EEG).
